The East Hanover Italian American Club (EHIAC) announces Michéal Castaldo as the Grand Marshall for the 2015 Columbus Day Parade, which will beheld in East Hanover, New Jersey, on Sunday, October 11. Castaldo is also being honored as the EHIAC Music Achievement Award Recipient for his outstanding performances, arranging and composing talents, and for keeping the Italian language alive and in the forefront of entertainment and the arts. The award will be presented at the EHIAC Annual Columbus Day Dinner Dance on Friday, October 9, at the Hanover Manor, 16 Eagle Rock Avenue, East Hanover, New Jersey.Italian Tenor Michéal Castaldo as Grand Marshall of the 2015 Columbus Day Parade
Michéal Castaldo is an Italian-born classical crossover tenor andlight Italian opera singer, songwriter, composer, and music producer. His recent single, the Pray'r Duet, peaked at No. 2 on Amazon onJanuary 27, 2015. His next digi-single, Toglimi il Respiro (Take My Breath Away), released on March 3 is available on Amazon, Spotify, and iTunes. The song’s release coincides with the 30th Anniversary of when the song was originally written. Take My Breath Awaywas the theme song from the movie, TopGun.
The next Digi-EP release will be on 5-5-15 for spiritually uplifting, wide appealing song Everything Happens For A Reason -Una Ragione. Sung in several languages, there will be over 30 Lyric Videos posted on Youtube with subtitles in 25 languages.
Castaldo studied voice with Maestro Pisapia, a protégé of the great Italian operatic tenor, Enrico Caruso. He also studied at Oakwood Collegiate Institute in Toronto and is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston. His voice is as warm as Pavarotti, as clear and precise as Carreras,and as broad and dark as Domingo. These attributes serve him well whenperforming popular and rock music as well. Michéal Castaldo Announces Extravergine,
A Mediterranean Christmas Music Folio Available on Nov. 2
The folio includes the music for 15 carols, including the following seasonal favorites: “Oh Santa Notte (Oh Holy Night),” “E Nato Il Bambino Gesu (What Child Is This?),” “Batte nel Cuore, Suona Natale (Little Drummer Boy),” a very upbeat, uplifting spirit for the Christmas Season, “Gioia Nel Mondo (Joy To The World),” “Puoi Sentire Quel' Che Sent Io? (Do You Hear What I Hear?),” “Astro Del Ciel (Silent Night).” In addition, “Piccolo Jesu,” an Italian translation by Castaldo of the well-known Polish carol, “Jezus Malusuenki.” Castaldo is said to be the first to perform this lovely carol in Italian on his “Extravergine” CD. Completing the perfect package, Castaldo also offers up a mash-up medley of “Day’o” (The banana boat song) and the classic Italian carol, “Gloria In Excelsis Deo,” as well as “Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle,” “Va Pensiero,” and “Adeste Fideles (Oh Come All Ye Faithful).” Rounding off the folio’s final musical selections are “Ave Maria,” “Panis Angelicus,” and Leonard Cohen’s “Allelulia.”
